Excel graph maker
Describe the chart you need and get a formatted Excel workbook back — clean source data, a summary tab that does the aggregation, and a native chart with proper axis titles.
Describe the chart, get the workbook
Excel's chart wizard assumes your data is already shaped the way a chart needs it. Usually it is not. Sehnna reshapes the data, builds the series, and puts the chart on its own tab with axis titles, number formats and a legend that makes sense.
Charts you can create
- Column and bar charts for comparisons between categories.
- Line charts for trends over time, with monthly or weekly buckets.
- Pie and donut charts for share of total.
- Combo charts with a secondary axis, for revenue against margin.
- Stacked charts for composition across periods.
- Small dashboards with several charts and KPI tiles on one tab.
How the graph maker works
Upload a spreadsheet or paste your figures, then say what the chart should show. The data stays on its own input tab, the aggregation lives in a summary tab, and the chart sits on a dashboard tab — the same separation an analyst would use.
Step by step
- Upload a file, or describe the data you want charted.
- Say what the chart should compare and over which period.
- Preview the chart and the underlying summary in the browser.
- Refine with prompts like 'group by quarter' or 'add a trend line'.
- Download the .xlsx, or export the chart as an image or PDF.
Picking the right chart
- Comparing categories — use a bar chart, sorted largest to smallest.
- Showing a trend — use a line chart with time on the horizontal axis.
- Showing composition — use a stacked column instead of several pies.
- Two different units — use a combo chart with a secondary axis.
